Eligibility Requirements NY Public College

​

• Graduate from a public or private high school or received the equivalent of a high school diploma in New York 

• Must have graduated within five years prior to applying to College to qualify for instate tuition 

• Have resided in New York State one year prior to enrolling in classes

Provide an affidavit stating that the individual will file an application to become a permanent resident at the earliest opportunity the individual is eligible to do so.

***You do not need Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) to go to college in New York. You do not need to be a citizen.**
